Mobile shootout in the offing

Football fans worldwide will soon be able to spice up their world cup season by playing ‘World Cup Shootout’, a new gambling game for mobile phones, created by Cometa Games.
‘World Cup Shootout’ challenges players to beat the goalkeeper in a fast-paced game of skill, placing bets on the outcome of each penalty kick.
The game has been designed to appeal to every football fan, so even a mobile gaming newcomer or novice will be able to pick up and play the game in seconds.

Players bet cash on each kick and can aim the ball at different areas of the goal, all of which are worth a different amount if a goal is scored there.
Mobile gambling expert Cometa is launching the game at the World Telemedia Expo, which takes place in Berlin from April 24 to 26. The April launch date ensures the game will be widely available for the start of the 2006 World Cup in June.
‘World Cup Shootout’ is one of the first games to be made available on Cometa’s New Mobile Casino application, which allows players to download and play games, quickly, conveniently, securely input credit/debit card information and request payouts from winnings.
Rob Anderson, Managing Director of Cometa Games, said: “World Cup Shootout has been designed to capitalise on the capabilities of mobile phone handsets and the way users interact with them. It’s simple, accessible and fun.”
